Name Sheila DevlinAbout Bio. Sheila Devlin is a petite red-headed individual weighing roughly 8 stone. She looks like a standard hominoid model from the outside, but her interior landscape is a bit peculiar. A teaming population of characters and creatures occupies her psyche, demanding representation through her artwork. To satisfy these demands, the twenty-six year-old artist employs ink and watercolor to create vibrant and imaginative vignettes. Miss Devlin studied at Antonelli Institute of Art and Photography in Erdenheim, Pa. While there, her innovative nature led her to generate a unique process of working with Polaroid film. She combines the techniques of manipulating the emulsion layer of the film to impart a painterly effect, layering a series of transparencies, and augmenting the images in the photographs with etched images. The prints resulting from all of this toil and trouble have an otherworldly, haunted quality and are known to have frightened at least one child…but he was from Topeka, Kansas, where young boys are easily frightened. Advertisements featuring her artwork appear regularly in The Bucks County Herald and Icon magazine. **To view Illustrations visit http://SheilaMDevlin.carbonmade.com |
